Immersion 101: Trends
I have a lot of Google Alerts.
Is that normal?
Don’t judge me.
I’ve had one for the phrase “interactive exhibition” forever. And I’ve had one for “immersive experience” for a year or so.
So I can report:
1. The web continues to fill up with articles about “interactive exhibitions”. More than “immersive experiences”.
2. But “immersive experience” continues to trend up.
3. It sorta feels a little like the early days of another Alert I have: “Instagram museum”. Crashed in the pandemic. Just saying.
4. “Immersive experience” at first just returned a few articles about Van Gogh shows. Today, my “immersive experience” Alert led to:
- Exhibition on King Tut
- Retail shop in London
- Economics exhibition in India
- Greek festival in Charlotte
- Electronic music event
- Steering wheel for racing games
- Trade show for computer printers
- Website about the Qatar subway
Note: 1/4 of those are about exhibitions.
Here’s the thing:
The phrase “immersive experience” is on the rise.
But what’s that mean?
I’m not going to tell you — you’re going to tell me.
Hit REPLY and tell me what you think. No wrong answers.
No judging. :)
Warmly,
Jonathan
